Change is exciting, nerve-wracking, and quite often the best thing for us personally and as entrepreneurs.
There is one thing that is always consistent in life. Change.
Change is ineveitable.
It happens whether we want it to or not.
Change is good
I’ve found over the years that most change is good. Even if it doesn’t seem exciting or positive in the beginning, when first faced with it, it usually turns out okay, and to our benefit.
God has a funny way of doing this for us. Creating necessary change and probably smiling while we are stewing with anxiety over it until we realize that He knew what He was doing all along.
In episode 143 I announced that I was making a change in my business. That announcement was my retirement from photography.
Another Big Change
Today I am announcing another big change. I am changing the name of The Second Phase Podcast to The Robyn Graham Show.
Why? Not because I am giving up on the concept of the second phase, but because as I move into more and more coaching and publishing my book, “You, Me, and Anxiety” in March, I want to have more leeway in the content I am sharing. And, I want everything in my brand to be aligned. As you know, my social media handles are all the Robyn Graham and my website URL is the Robyn Graham. Changing the name of the show not only helps me with brand alignment but also helps people search for the show.
When I started the podcast, if I am honest, I started it without putting a lot of thought into it. Yes, I had planned for it, created the intro and outro and the show description, and chose a name, but I didn’t think about the name long-term. I thought I would have a show that featured people who moved from phase one of their careers to phase two and were making an impact as I had done. I wanted to tell stories that inspired others.
If you have been following the show for any length of time, you have probably observed the transition from inspiring stories to inspiring stories with more tips and strategies for entrepreneurship.
Still has the same great content
But now that the book is publishing and my business is transitioning, and I believe I am being called to have a deeper impact, I want to focus content more on entrepreneurship, faith, and mental health. In 2022, I’ll be doing episodes that fall into one or the other category and most of the time, two or more of them. We’ll dive into faith and entrepreneurship, mental health and entrepreneurship, mindset, brand strategy, and how to build a business for success.
Don’t worry, we’ll still have inspiring guests and will be sharing interesting and thought-provoking journeys.
The only significant change is the name of the show, and of course, the graphics to go along with it.
I can’t wait to share the amazing interviews we’ve already recorded for 2022. Please bear with us as we had already recorded several interviews prior to the decision of the name change. You may hear the second phase mentioned, or you may notice some bumps in editing, but those hiccups won’t last long.
Two shows per week, sometimes
Another exciting thing is that we have so many episodes already recorded and we have a lot, tons, of applications for guests, we will be doing bonus episodes. So be sure and subscribe to the show so that you don’t miss any of the amazing content.
We will continue to release episodes Tuesday morning and add a second episode periodically on Friday morning. In fact, we’ll be publishing a second episode this Friday and you don’t want to miss my conversation with Judy Weber.
Our conversation was about money and discernment. We dove deep into faith and entrepreneurship and I think the conversation will inspire you as you close out 2021 and move into 2022. You’ll be inspired! But note, when we recorded the collaborative episode, I thought it was going to air in January. But then, change happened. I changed my mind because I knew it was a message everyone needed to hear before the new year.
Before I close out the episode, did you meet your 2021 goals?
If yes, congrats! Amazing! High fives all around! If you did not, congratulations on taking intentional action in 2021 and moving the needle forward in your business.
No matter which category you fall into, make a list of 25 things you did this year to impact your business. Then make a list of 25 things you did this year that you are proud of.
I want you to see how far you have come since January 2021.
Even if you didn’t meet your financial goal, I bet you met other goals and those will set you up for success in 2022.
If you took any intentional action this year, you are moving the needle forward. Working on mindset is included. We often have to get through the weeds before we can see a harvest.
We will be airing an episode the week between Christmas and the New Year, but since I won’t be here live, I want to wish you and yours a very merry Christmas and a happy healthy New Year. If you don’t celebrate Christmas and celebrate another holiday, I wish you the very best in celebrating with your family and friends too.
