Have you ever questioned your worth? Maybe things weren’t going your way, you wondered if things would ever turn around, or maybe you’ve had bad experiences and feel shame. As a result, you don’t feel worthy of love, grace, acceptance, success, etc.
I want to assure you that you are worthy! Worthy of love, grace, acceptance, success, and more.
You are worthy because God created you
Genesis 1:27 reads God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female, he created them. If He created us in His image, how can we doubt that we are worthy of His love?
Combine the concept that we were created in God’s image with Luke 12:7, which reads “In fact, even the hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; you are more valuable than many sparrows.” God knows us intimately, better than anyone else, he made us who we are. He knows everything about us and still loves us.
Sparrows may be small, but He loves them, He loves everything He created and treasures them. Think how beautiful even the tiniest feather is. He created us each to be His masterpiece.
God created you to be His masterpiece therefore you are worthy
Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are God’s masterpieces. It reads, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Not only did He create us in His image as His masterpiece, He has prepared our work for us, our purpose. He believes in your worthiness so much that He gives you a purpose.
You are worthy because you are fearfully and wonderfully made
Psalm 139:13-14 is a great reminder of just how worthy we are. “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” His works are indeed wonderful and knowing that, we can rest assured that he created us to be worthy of our hopes and dreams, our triumphs and joys, our beauty and relationships. And especially His grace.
You are radiant
In more than one place in scripture, we are reminded that we are radiant in Christ’s love. Psalm 34:5 reminds us that “Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.” In Proverbs 31:25-26 we read that “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue.” The Proverbs 31 woman is the perfect example of how God believes we are worthy of great gifts and accomplishments when we revere and love Him. Once we accept Him as our savior, we are worthy of all He has to give us.
He will be gracious to you
Likewise, in Romans 8:38-39 Paul tells us that He is convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore, we see clearly that God thinks we are worthy. You are so worthy that nothing will separate you from the ultimate love of God when you believe in Jesus as your savior.
Social media has no influence on self-worth
Seeking approval and gratification on social media is the worst thing you can do to improve your self-worth. You may have a quick dopamine hit that feels good, but after scrolling, you will feel even worse, lower, and more doubtful.
Your worth is not proven by likes and follower count.
As Christian business owners we don’t need outside approval, we don’t need likes and followers to know we are worthy. We are worthy in God’s eyes and he shed his blood for us to prove it.
Society has convinced us that we need the world’s approval – we do not. When we follow scripture, we can lean into what Paul tells us in Colossians 3:23-24, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Remember, if you are experiencing doubt, anxiety, or lack of self-worth after being on social media, step away. You can grow your business without social media. And you can achieve success without social media.
He will always sustain you
Lastly, I leave you with Isaiah 46:4 “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”
Friend, you are so worthy that you never have to worry about not being sustained. You can rest assured, that through faith, you will always have all you need.
That may not mean that life will be a walk down easy street. Of course, not, look at the people in the Bible. There was always someone experiencing something hard, challenging, hurtful, disappointing. But through God’s rich and boundless mercy, there is always hope because he sees us as so worthy that He gave His son for us. Can I get an Amen?
The more you believe this, that you are worthy of the gifts God has given you, worthy to have a purpose, and worthy of earthly success, the better your mindset will be. We know that a positive mindset is key to overall business success. I encourage you to journal about all the ways God is leading you to feel worthy and to believe in yourself and your abilities.
