No Judgment, No Shame

Majet Reyes is a trauma therapist who believes therapy should be normalized.  Therapists are objective people that allow people to share with no judgment and no shame.

Majet Reyes was interviewed on The Second Phase Podcast. We talked about trauma, adversity, resiliency, and so much more.

About Majet

Maria Reyes or Majet, is a pre-licensed professional counselor with a master of science degree in community and trauma counseling from Jefferson University.

A former paramedic, she now owns Resilient Mind Works in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia, where she works with first responders, creatives, millennials and couples who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Majet helps her patience process their pasts so that they can live in the present and plan a fulfilling future.

She is also the owner of DivaGirl Philadelphia, which is a lifestyle community that educates and empowers women by hosting conferences, volunteer abroad programs, and workshops.

Majet is an international volunteer, having done medical missions in the Philippines twice, helped rebuild in Puerto Rico in 2018, and since 2016 has been working with women and children in Nepal, Ghana, Peru and India.

She is also an adjunct professor at Jefferson University and teaches yoga to kids.

Passions

Her passions include:

– connecting and supporting women
– normalizing counseling
– helping first responders
– volunteering abroad
– creating memories with my daughter

First Phase

Working as a paramedic was the first way Majet served others.   But once she had her daughter she realized she wasn’t begin fulfilled at work.  She no longer wanted to be a paramedic and sought options when one day a post card arrived in the mail.  It was as though God was sending her a message.

The postcard was for a new program at the University of Philadelphia on trauma counseling.  She enrolled in the program and began realizing how much the traumas she experienced as a child in the Philippines had affected her life.

Second Phase

She graduated and became a trauma therapist and now helps others move through their adversities and find the resilience to move forward.  She believes that we all experience adversities and have resilience.

Majet is now on a mission to normalize therapy so that more people will get the help they need.  Therapists provide an objective view of what you are going through with no judgement or shame.

In addition to working as a therapist, Majet empowers women through her organization Diva Girl Philly.
